A decimal is a number that has a decimal point and one or more digits to the right of the decimal point.
Decimals are another way to represent fractions.

For this topic, we will be converting fractions to decimals up to the hundredths place. An easy way to do this is

  1. Convert the fraction so that the denominator is 100
  2. Move the decimal point of the numerator to the left by 2 places


Example 1: 100 in the denominator

= 0.06
= 0.83
= 0.70 = 0.7


Example 2: Converting the denominator to 100

= = = 0.14
= = = 0.30 = 0.3
= = = 0.20 = 0.2
