Compare Integers

When comparing integers, it is easier to use a number line to see the comparison.
On a number line, a number is always greater than the numbers to its left.


Example 1: Greater than
Use >, <, or = to relate the two numbers.



- 1 is   to the right of   - 4
- 1 is   is greater than   - 4
- 1   >   - 4


Example 2: Less than
Use >, <, or = to relate the two numbers.



- 2 is   to the left of   0
- 2 is   is less than   0
- 2   <   0
