MathScore for Proficient and Advanced Students
MathScore is statistically proven to be very effective with proficient and
advanced students. In fact, on the 2006 California STAR exam,
Bishop Elementary 5th graders who scored "proficient" as 4th graders showed
an average gain of 57.7 points. 50% of these kids scored "advanced" as 5th
graders. Of the kids who were "advanced" as 4th graders, the average child
gained 75.7 points! Students can only score between 150-600 points on the
STAR exam, so these gains were tremendous. These students only used MathScore
about 1 hour per week. Details can be found here.
